Solar lighting is now is becoming more and more popular in residential areas, whether in homes, as street lamps or street signs. Solar heating is also increasing in popularity in homes across the world.

Solar panels are vital to the process of residential solar heating, electricity and lighting. As gas prices go up, more and more people are figuring out the importance of conserving energy and natural resources. The government is also offering various incentives to such conservations, adding to the bonuses of installing solar electricity in residential homes and offices.

The best thing about residential solar panels is the fact that most homes can use them, even homes in commonly cloud covered states such as Washington and Maine. General Electric along with other electricity companies now offer an option to install solar powered systems in homes, and the prices continue to drop. The downside is that the system doesn’t work at night, so you must have regular electricity as backup.
