Eco Friendly Living

Eco-friendly living by a majority of citizens is vital to the improvement of our environment and the conservation of valuable energy resources. There are many simple ways in which each person can reduce the amount of energy wasted every day. Some simple suggestions: Cut back on using your car – walking and biking keep you fit, save money and are better for the environment.

Use public transportation whenever possible. Buy unpackaged fruits and vegetables to practice better eco-friendly living. Choose refillable and reusable containers over disposable.  Buy reusable shopping bags when you go to the store. Reuse plastic grocery bags for garbage liners, foot wrapping, etc.

Other ways to practice eco-friendly living in the home: Turn your heating and cooling down, turn off the lights and television when they aren’t being used, buy energy efficient light bulbs. Insulate your home well; it will pay for itself in the end. Use waste paper and packaging for crafts and play activities. Cloths and linins that no longer fit their original purpose can be torn up and used for rags.

Planting a tree, or several if you have the space, is a great way to practice eco-friendly living that your neighbors can also enjoy. Make them fruit trees and then you can enjoy the produce as they clean up the air.
